A U.S. Navy minesweeper, the USS Guardian, is yet to be extracted after it ran aground at the Tubbataha Reef in Palawan, the Philippines, last Thursday. The extraction of the ship requires proper timing, that is when the tide is the highest. A Philippine navy ship is carrying an oil spill boom to control possible oil spill. Philippine Presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte says the primary concern is extricating the ship out of the reef with minimal damage. |
