On Feb. 21, the government released 18 official examples of women's hairstyles, aiming to limit western influence on North Koreans. The recommended hairstyles will be plastered across the wall of hair salons in Pyongyang, the capital city of North Korea. If they often wear the traditional Korean attire, the women usually opt for a straight hairdo. If they prefer more western style clothing, the women choose to sport wavy or curly hair.
