Wu Guixian was elected member of the Central Committee of the 11th CPC National Congress in August 1977. She gave up the post one month later and returned to work in Shaanxi Province. She served as secretary of the Party committee of the Northwest First Textile Factory and chairwoman of its trade union in 1980.
