A 36-year-old man surnamed Hou finds himself on top of a 30-meter high-voltage pole, completely disregarding police efforts to bring him down, in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, May 27, 2013. Hou, merely wearing underwear, climbed the pole in the morning. Rescuers laid down an air cushion in case should Hou fall down. The 36-year-old climbed down to the middle of the pole twice after people trying to persuade him to come down, but climbed back to the top later on.
