US boosts security after emergency landing

U.S. federal authorities are boosting security in the United Staets after a credible threat to overseas Western interests were detected and the government has extended the duration of shutdown for U.S. diplomatic posts across the Middle East and North Africa until this weekend. Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security has lift its security measures at airports, train stations and other transprotation hubs, and extending security deployments in major cities.
