In his younger years, Bao Jiazhi was an engineer and owned several patents. In recent years, however, he has built himself a bird's nest which he now calls home. The nest is located within an ecological garden on Changzhou Island of Huangpu District in Guangzhou. The vegetables and fruits he eats are all grown by himself, without using any chemical fertilizer.
