A small aerobatic airplane has crashed into a lake in northeast China's Liaoning Province, leaving one US pilot missing and his Chinese translator dead. Local authorities say the accident occurred at about one o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The Lancair aircraft was carrying pilot David Riggs and his Chinese translator when it crashed into a lake in Faku county in Shenyang during a trial flight. The aircraft belongs to the MACH 1 aerobatic team from the United States, but was assembled at a local airport. The translator was pulled from the water, but died later at a local hospital. Rescuers are still searching for the pilot. An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway. [Photo/Xinhua]
