Over the past 35 years since the start of China's reform and opening up in 1978, there have been tremendous changes in marriages in China. The wedding ceremonies of new couples also reflect improvements in China's politics, economy and culture.

In 1979, the Wuhan Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League holds a group wedding ceremony for 59 new couples. [Photo/Xinhua]
