Editor's note: The Wildlife Conservation Association of Qingdao in Shandong went to Guyan Town in Pingdu City and the Yinfu Reservoir Wetland to investigate the living conditions for migratory birds January 24th, 2015. In Guyan Town they found many poisoned pheasants and electrocuted hares in the market, and toxic corn distributed on the bank of reservoir as well as several struggling wild ducks and dead magpies floating on the water. Moreover, In Yinfu reservoir, which provides water to Pingdu City, one side of the upriver is covered with rubbish and large areas of habitat of migrant birds have been destroyed by dredging. Therefore, about 45 whooper swans, 75 wild ducks and three herons have to huddle in an area of water abandoned by dredging workers.
