Regarded as the "finest flower under heaven", the Luoyang peony is world famous for its rare beauty. It symbolizes wealth and social status and is the national flower of China. Each year from early April to mid-May, the magnificent Peony Festival is held in Luoyang city of Cental China's Henan province and attracts countless visitors from both home and aboard. During the festival, flowers, lanterns, exhibitions of traditional Chinese calligraphy and painting will be shown to the people.
