Editor's note: Bamu, 26, has been working as a postwoman in Nyima County, Nagqu Prefecture in Tibet Autonomous Region since 2006. The high elevation and poor natural conditions make Nyima County a “no man’s land.” With a bag stuffed with newspapers and letters, a pack of Zanba, several pieces of butter and a bottle of water, she starts her delivery journey across seven villages where one household can be dozens of kilometers from another. Year after year, Bamu has traveled all over Nyima County on foot or by motorcycle to fulfill her obligations to villagers and delivered their anticipated mail.
