The headquarters of Danfoss, a global leader in energy-efficient solutions, is located in Nordborg, a small Danish town in Sonderborg. Founded in 1933 by Mads Clausen on his parents' farm, the company has grown from a solo enterprise into an industrial pioneer in cooling, heating, water treatment and motion control. The green-tech multinational has a workforce of 24,000 working in 63 factories in 19 countries and regions. It serves customers in more than 100 countries and regions, with the United States, Germany and China being its top three markets. Danfoss has done a lot to help Sonderborg towards achieving its goal of becoming a carbon-neutral city in Denmark by 2029 by halving its current energy consumption with the use of local renewables.
