Editor's note: Luo Zhigang, 53, is a surgeon and professor of the Hengyang-based Second Affiliated Hospital and Nanyue-based Third Affiliated Hospital of the University of South China, Hunan Province. He is Hengyang's first medical doctor returning from study abroad, becoming one of the country's leading experts in urology and organ transplant. He is also the first in Hengyang to register for organ donation and is a winner of the "May 1 Labor Medal" -- the highest honor for Chinese workers. The following pictures taken on Nov.12 reveal his daily routine as he shuttles back and forth through the operating theaters and wards of the two hospitals.
