Editor's note: The annual National Postgraduate Entrance Examination (NPEE), widely known as "kaoyan" in Chinese, is a prerequisite for college undergraduates to enter the higher educational institutions. Starting from this year, the examination date has been changed from late January to late December, following an extension of the age limit 40 for applicants in 2014. The following pictures reveal how Chinese students who pursue advanced studies are making a final spurt towards the academic examination – perhaps a vital stage in pursuit of their dreams.
