Editor's note:

An old-style Chinese wedding was held in Chengdu city, southwest China's Sichuan province on April 2, 2016, where a Chinese woman married her French husband in full traditional regalia.

The joyful ceremony usually consists of some complex but interesting traditional rituals. This includes an exquisite dressing procedure, welcoming the bride in a bridal sedan, the bowing process, and serving tea to each other's parents.

Traditional Chinese wedding customs have existed for thousands of years. In recent years, reviving such rituals has become a trend in China.
