Editor's note: Tang-ga is a Tibetan word which refers to a kind of scroll painting mounted with colorful satin and fabrics. It uses non-ferrous ore as its raw material and is famous for its dazzlingly florid colors.Currently, this traditional Tibetan art has been used by craftsmen in eggshell painting. An eggshell product painted in theTang-ga style usually goes through a more than 30-step process from start to finish, including cleaning, antiseptic treatment, polishing, composition and tracing. The products have been given a new lease on life, findingfavor with both Chinese and foreign tourists. The handicraft has been included in the Hubei provincial intangible cultural heritage list. In the following pictures, craftsman Zhu Bo displays his excellent skills in eggshell painting with a group of products exhibited at a local arts and crafts market.
