Village on the cliff: Going to school on ladders

0 Comment(s)Print E-mail China.org.cn, May 25, 2016

There used to be a ropeway to go up and down the mountain, but villagers couldn't afford the electricity bill to get the ropeway started. The ropeway was then demolished. Api Jiti said that the rattan ladders can be replaced by steel-made ladders, but that would cost several million yuan. If a real road is built in the village and two other neighboring villages, it would cost 50 to 60 million yuan. [Photo/The Beijing News]
