Exhibition of puppet art in Fujian and Taiwan

Editor's note: An Exhibition of Puppet Art in Fujian and Taiwan is being held at the Handan Museum of Hebei Province from July 9 to August 3. A total of 294 sets of puppets and props are being displayed to tell visitors in full detail about the long standing cultural tradition in Fujian and Taiwan. All of the displayed works were provided by the Museum of Fujian-Taiwan Kinship, which is located in Quanzhou, Fujian Province. Built in 2004, it is a national museum which explains the geographical, historical, cultural and commercial relationship between Fujian and the island of Taiwan. It also displays local handicrafts from Quanzhou such as stone and wood carvings, embroidery and puppet making.
