Xu Wenjing, a daughter of Xu Bingfang, dries bamboo pieces at home in Changzhou, east China's Jiangsu Province, July 29, 2016. The 71-year-old Xu Bingfang is the son of Liuqing Bamboo carving artist Xu Subai. He started to learn this outstanding skill in his childhood. In 2009, Xu Bingfang became the representative successor of Liuqing Bamboo carving, one of the national intangible cultural heritages. His two daughters are also provincial level and city level successors of Liuqing Bamboo carving. The carving skill is a unique and traditional method to carve into the very thin surface of bamboo. Artists use their skills in creating deep and dimensional procedures to achieve various shadows and level in the surface of bamboo. (Xinhua/Ji Chunpeng)
