A good harvest of corns in China

Editor's note: Autumn brings a good harvest of corns in many parts of China. It is truly gratifying to look at fields of billowing corns stretching to the horizon. In the following pictures, farmers are busy reaping their harvest in Anhui and Shandong provinces – two major grain producers in the country. Various large agricultural machines, such as corn binders, straw crushers and transport vehicles, can get the crop in quickly. Farmers dry corns on the threshing grounds in the sun before storing them. They also use plant stalks as fertilizer for the fields where autumn sowing begins immediately.

A farmer removes corns from a corn binder in Sanyi Town, Mengcheng County, Anhui Province, on September 17, 2016. More than 15 million mu (about 100,000 hectares) of cornfields in the county produce a good autumn crop. [Photo by Hu Weiguo/China.com.cn]
