Editor's note: "Lidong" falls on Nov. 7, this year. The term of Chinese lunar calendar reflects the changing of seasons, indicating that the long, freezing winter begins. As the temperature begins to drop quickly in north China, many people begin to store fresh vegetables such as Chinese cabbages, potatoes, large green onions, turnips and carrots for winter use. In the following pictures, vegetable venders are busy with replenishing their stocks in a farmer's market in Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, to meet the large demand from consumers.
