Lake Sevan is not only the largest body of water in Armenia but also in the entire Caucasus region. In addition, it is one of the largest high-altitude freshwater lakes on the Eurasia continent. The total surface area of its basin is about 5,000 square km, accounting for one-sixth of Armenia's territory. The beaches around the lake provide a unique experience for locals and visitors to the landlocked country. [Photo by Martin Debusmann / China.org.cn]
