To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 60th anniversary of democratic reform in Tibet that abolished serfdom, an exhibition showcasing 54 pieces of heavy color paintings by 13 Tibetan artists opens on Aug. 15 at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing. The event also marks the beginning of an initiative by the Tibet Art Museum to accept donations from artists. Twenty-six renowned Chinese painters have already donated their works to the museum in Lhasa. [Photo by Ding Ding/China.org.cn]
