A resident reads the introduction on garbage classification in Nanjing, east China's Jiangsu Province, Nov. 1, 2020. Waste sorting has been implemented in 86.6 percent of residential communities, covering 77 million households, in the 46 pilot cities that are required to carry out mandatory waste sorting by a 2017 nationwide plan, according to an official with the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. China has put ecological protection at the heart of its policy considerations and made notable achievements in pursuing green growth. The efforts to pursue a green lifestyle contributed to the construction of a resource-conserving and environmentally-friendly society, and promoted people's convenience in daily life.
