Editor's note:

As figurines of Bing Dwen Dwen, the official mascot of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, were out of stock across almost all online platforms, more and more enthusiasts have turned to brick-and-mortar stores. At one flagship store in downtown Beijing, a line formed several hundred meters long as shoppers waited in sub-zero temperatures to purchase the panda mascot toys.

Resembling an astronaut in a space suit, Bing Dwen Dwen has been going viral on social media platforms around the world since the opening of Beijing 2022 on Feb. 4. The mascot is designed to be a winter sports expert coming from the future, representing a perfect blend of winter sports and modern technology.
