Northwestern Beijing's Yanqing rolled out eight spring outing routes yesterday, where tourists can experience nature and be a gourmet foodie.

The routes feature ecology, homestays, culture and agriculture as well as elements of Winter Olympics, as Yanqing was one of the three venues of the just-concluded Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.

Yanqing, reputed as a back garden and summer resort for Beijing's city proper, has a cluster of scenic spots including the Great Wall, Yudu Mountains, Wild Duck Lake Natural Reserve and the Beijing Expo Park. Yanqing has become a choice place for people nearby as short-distance trips prevail due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The following are the eight feature routes released by the Yanqing cultural and tourism authorities.

--Climb the Great Wall

--Watch birds at the Wild Duck National Reserve

--Go boating in the Longqing Gorge

--Go cycling along the Guihe River

--Enjoy apricot flowers at the Xizhuangpu Apricot Planting Base

--Experience the culture of the just-concluded Winter Olympics

--Visit the time-honored Yongning ancient town

--Feel the revolutionary history of Pingbei
