Editor's note: Beijing lifted a series of COVID-19 restrictions starting on Monday as the latest wave of the pandemic wanes, allowing people's lives to return closer to normalcy. Restaurants reopened to diners, and public transportation services resumed. Employees can return to the office, most students will be able to attend classes on campus from mid-June, and couriers are now allowed to enter residential communities. Meanwhile, public spaces such as libraries, museums, cinemas and gyms are also resuming operation, with total visitor numbers capped at 75% of maximum capacity.
