This photo shows a serving of Luosifen noodles cooked by Li Yuanlong, an inheritor of Luosifen making technique, in Liuzhou City, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Dec. 12, 2024. Luosifen, a noodle dish known for its pungent smell, is a signature street food in Liuzhou City. It features rice vermicelli soaked in a spicy broth nicely flavored by river snails and topped with ingredients such as pickled bamboo shoots, string beans, peanuts and fried tofu skin. Liuzhou, traditionally an industrial city best known for its steel and automobile manufacturing, started to produce pre-packaged Luosifen in 2014. Thanks to large-scale marketing and e-commerce, the delicacy has created a huge industrial chain and exports of pre-package Luosifen has registered remarkable sales volume in recent years. Official data shows the sales revenue of entities involved in Luosifen business in Liuzhou exceeded 54.5 billion yuan (about 7.48 billion U.S. dollars) from January to September this year, up 12.08 percent year on year. In the meantime, the export of Luosifen brought in a revenue of 63.287 million yuan to the city, up 2.9 percent year on year. (Xinhua/Jin Haoyuan)
