The National Art Museum of China is hosting a special exhibition celebrating the Year of the Snake, running from January to April 8.
In traditional Chinese culture, the image of the snake carries an auspicious meaning, symbolizing wisdom and vitality. As such, it is widely featured in various forms of folk art.
The exhibition, titled "Auspicious Sign Greets the New Year," showcases a diverse range of snake-themed items, including traditional Chinese paintings, New Year pictures, couplets, paper cuttings, shadow puppets, masks and embroidery.
