Li Shijie checks the quality of fireworks products in Liuyang, central China's Hunan Province, Feb. 27, 2025. Born in 1996, Li Shijie comes from a family that has been engaged in fireworks industry for generations. During Li's study abroad, the dazzling fireworks he witnessed in various activities not only instilled and fostered a sense of pride in him, but also aroused his further thinking on the upgrading of fireworks display with scientific and technological power. Li returned to his hometown and became a manager of Zhongzhou Fireworks Group Co., Ltd. in 2022. One year later, Li established Hunan Chizi Culture Technology Co., Ltd. and began to work on a three-dimensional performance model integrating drones with eco-friendly cold fireworks. Through repeated trials, Li and his team have significantly enhanced the formation capacity and safety of self-developed drones in large-scale performances. In 2024, his team staged more than 50 drone firework shows at home and abroad, and cooperated with many shows and short video platforms in cultural promotion activities. "To boost both nighttime and low-altitude economies, and to seek innovation in traditional fireworks industry -- are the stories I wish to continue to write," Li said. (Xinhua/Xue Yuge)
