SW China's Lincang City develops eco-friendly degradable tableware with bagasse

Based on its 400,000 mu (26,666.67 hactares) of sugar cane planting fields, Gengma Dai and Va Autonomous County of Lincang City has been focusing on developing eco-friendly degradable tableware with bagasse, the waste generated during the course of sugar pressing. These products have gained popularity in overseas countries like Germany and Italy. Now the annual production value of its degradable tableware products has approached 100 million yuan (about 13.65 million U.S. dollars), giving a great boost to local economy and employment.
