Love netted a penalty to open the scoring for Shandong.

Chinese Super League sides Shandong Luneng and Beijing Guoan crashed out of the AFC Champions League after both sides lost in the final group games last night.

Japan's Cerezo Osaka made the last 16 with a 2-1 comeback victory away to Shandong in Group E.

The home side dominated the opening period at Jinan Olympic Sports Centre and opened the scoring after 18 minutes with a penalty converted by Vagner Love.

But the J.League club came flying out of the blocks after the half-time interval and netted twice in the opening two minutes following the re-start through first Yoichiro Kakitani and then 2010 FIFA World Cup MVP Diego Forlan.

Cerezo will face Marcello Lippi's defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande in next month's Round of 16.

In Seoul, last year's runner-up FC Seoul beat Beijing 2-1 to advance to the knockout stage.

Kang Song-ho scored a minute before halftime and Yun Ju-tae widened the lead for the host in the 56th minute as the South Korean club topped Group F.

Yu Yang headed home for Beijing two minutes from time, but it was not enough to spark a fight back for the Chinese club.
