Havier Hernandez set to leave Barcelona for Doha

Asian football fans might be able to see Barcelona's legendary playmaker Havier Hernandez on home pitches as the Spaniard has been confirmed to leave the Catalonian club for Qatari side Al Sad.

Al Sad's manager has revealed the agreement on his social media account.

The exact sum of transfer fee was not disclosed but Spanish paper Diario Sport said the deal will see Xavier coach the youth team of Al Sad in Doha for three years with an annual salary of 10 million euros.

Xavier has also been offered the potential deal to coach Qatar’s national team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which is set take place in Qatar.

Al Sad has won the 2011 season Asian Champions League.

Former Guangzhou Evergrande striker Muriqi joined the club last year.

Xavier has been with Barcelona for 17 years.

The midfielder has helped the team to capture 3 European Champions League titles and 7 Spanish La Liga trophies.
