Guangdong streak hits 10, Beijing upset

Guangdong crushed Guangsha 106-100 for their 10th straight win in the 15th round of the 2016-2017 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Wednesday.

Among the five out of 10 games on Wednesday, there is the clash of the titans as top ranked Guangsha meet the challenge of Guangdong, who just won their ninth consecutive win.

Former NBA player Yi Jianlian started the game with a block upon Guangsha center Hu Jinqiu. Guangdong took an early lead 14-6. Guangsha tried hard to narrow the gap with three-pointers while Guangdong made full use of their advantage in the paint.

Leading by two points into the last quarter, Guangdong stormed for a 13-0 streak. Guangsha managed to cut the deficit down to four, but Yi ended the match with two free-throws, helping the team win their 10th straight 106-100.

Courtney Fortson had match-high 31 points for Guangsha, Hu proved his capability with 18 points and five rebounds. Yi led Guangdong with 28 points and 14 rebounds.

Xinjiang shot 20 three-pointers in their 121-118 road victory against Shanxi. Jabari Brown had the game winning shot at 97-99 to help Jilin beat Beijing 100-99.

In Wednesday's other games, Liaoning smashed Tianjin 126-116, Bayi edged Fujian 92-86.

Other matches of the round will be played on Friday.
