The 2017 Hainan (Sanya) International Marathon will be held in Hainan's Sanya city on February 26, organizers announced on Thursday.

In its second year, this year's event will feature 20,000 runners in three disciplines – 5,000 in full marathon, 5,000 in half marathon and 10,000 in 5-kilometer mini run.

Runners can register on the event's official website of www.hainan-marathon.com before February 5. The entry fee of full and half marathons is 100 yuan (US$14.5) for Chinese runners and US$50 for foreign runners. The 5km mini run will cost Chinese participants 50 yuan and foreign runners US$30.

Jointly organized by Chinese Athletic Association and Sanya government, the event will be broadcast live on China's central television station. To encourage Chinese runners, the top 24 Chinese finishers in men's and women's full marathons will each receive an extra prize money of 30,000 yuan, the organizers said.

The runners will take in Sanya's beaches with the finish line of half marathon at Tianyahaijiao Resort, or the End of the Earth. Shuttle buses will be arranged to ferry half marathon runners from the finish line to nearby transport hubs.
