2017 Chinese Pool World Championship to kick off in SE China county

The 2017 Chinese Pool World Championship will kick off on March 13th in southeastern China's Yushan county, Jiangxi province for the third straight year.

This year's championship offers a total prize money of over three million RMB (about 437,573 U.S. dollars). The winners of men and women's final will each receive 600,000 and 400,000 RMB.

Nearly 400 players from over 40 countries and regions will be in Yushan to fight for the title, including Mark Williams, Neil Robertson and other famous snooker players.

This is the third time for the southeast county to hold the Chinese pool tournament of the highest level. The championship is now listed in official matches of World Pool-Billiard Association(WPA).

In October, 2016, the championship held its qualifying matches oversea for the first time, four players booked their berths in Yushan after two days' qualifiers in Virginia, America.

"We'd like to join hands with our Chinese partners for the development of this sport, Chinese pool will have a promising future." said Jason Ferguson, president of World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association. "I love Chinese pool." he added in Chinese.
