Fire breaks out at Shanghai's Hongkou Stadium

Part of the shops on the second floor of Hongkou Stadium is engulfed by the fire.


A fire broke out at the Hongkou Football Stadium at around 8:15am on Tuesday, leading to temporary closure of Metro Line 3 exits 1&2 of the Hongkou Football Stadium Station.

The Hongkou District's fire department said the fire broke out at the rock climbing spot at the stadium. It was put out in an hour and there were no reports of injury. The home matches of Shanghai Shenhua are played at the stadium.

Investigation on the cause of the fire is ongoing.
