Bosnia and Herzegovina's (BiH) soccer team player Vedad Ibisevic has officially decided to retire from the national team on Saturday.

At the press conference held in BiH's capital Sarajevo, Ibisevic emotionally said that he has been thinking a lot about his decision after his team failed to book a ticket in next year's World Cup in Russia.

"I decided that if we do not qualify for the World Cup in Russia, I will say goodbye to the national jersey. I have made my decision to retreat," Ibisevic told reporters.

"I will be the biggest fan of this team and I wish a lot of success to Bosnia and Herzegovina," Ibisevic concluded.

Ibisevic, 33, currently plays as a striker for Hertha and has a contract until June 2019. After more than a decade playing for the BiH soccer team, Vedad Ibisevic has played 74 games and scored 26 goals.
