Fabio Quagliarella, Alvaro Morata each scored a brace as Italy and Spain both sealed victories to top respective group in the second round of Euro 2020 qualifiers on Tuesday night.
36-year-old Quagliarella surpassed Christian Panucci to become Italy's oldest goalscorer as his two goals and one assists helped Italy swept Liechtenstein 6-0.
Quagliarella converted the penalties to goals twice in the first half before Stefano Sensi scored with a header in 17th minute and Marco Verratti hit a wonderful shot in 32nd minute.
Moise Kean's header goal in 69th minute and Pavoletti added the sixth to ensure Italy leads in Group J where Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) now levels with Greece on four points but stays in third with inferior goal difference. Italy is atop of Group J with six points.
The BiH drew 2-2 with Greece in Tuesday's match.
Morata scored a double and Spain won 2-0 away to Malta as their head coach Luis Enrique missed the clash due to a family issue.
Morata opened the scoring in the 30th minute after a good piece of control and a left foot shot, although keeper Henry Bonella of Malta should probably have kept his shot out.
Morata scored Spain's second with a powerful header following Jesus Navas' excellent cross from the right in the 73rd minute.
Spain leads Group F with six points while Sweden has four on second place after drawing 3-3 away to Norway. Romania added three points to rank third after hitting Faroe Islands 4-1.
Denmark scored three goals in seven minutes to draw 3-3 away to Switzerland, while Ireland past Georgia 1-0 in the other Group D match.
Denmark still fell behind three goals until Zanka hit a header in 84th minute and then Christian Gytkjaer added one just 4 minutes later. Defender Henrik Dalsgaard scored a 93rd-minute equalizer as Denmark grabbed one point.
