Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics solicit public art works globally

The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics began to solicit public art works from across the world on Thursday, in an effort to build on the Olympic cultural legacy.
Submitted works should mostly be sculptures with the theme of the Beijing Winter Olympics. Applicants can submit the works on the website of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (https://www.beijing2022.cn) and that of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Planning and Natural Resources (http://ghzrzyw.beijing.gov.cn) before Oct. 15.
An expert panel will shortlist 100 works for the next round, and then 20 nominees before publishing their plans for online voting.
The 10 most voted works will be selected and placed at 13 signature Winter Olympics venues. All the winning artists will receive a certificate of honor issued by the organizing committee.
The solicitation campaign was jointly launched by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the Beijing municipal government, and the Hebei provincial government.
