Qingdao Football Club has decided to withdraw from China's professional football leagues, the club announced on Wednesday.

A newcomer to the Chinese Super League (CSL) in 2020, Qingdao had struggled in the past two seasons with a shortage of funds and failed to cash in on several sponsorship deals. It was relegated last season.

The club informed the Qingdao Football Management Center of the withdrawal on Wednesday and will focus on youth training and campus football in the future.
