The Shanghai Sharks beat the Jiangsu Dragons 116-101 for their eighth consecutive win of the 2022-2023 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season on Tuesday.
In the 16th round of league action, Jiangsu started off strong as Antonio Blakeney scored 15 points in 11 minutes. Through a 9-0 scoring run, Jiangsu led the first quarter 34-22. In the second quarter, Shanghai answered with a 12-0 run led by Eric Bledsoe and Wang Zhelin, and turned the fortune around to lead 59-52 at halftime.
In the seesawed third quarter, Jiangsu managed to cut the deficit to four points. But with only seven members available to play due to injures, Jiangsu eventually failed to turn the tide.
Bledsoe earned a game-high 51 points for Shanghai, and grabbed 18 rebounds and eight assists. Ren Junwei and Liu Zhengqing added 19 and 15 points respectively. Blakeney scored 44 points to lead four Jiangsu players in double-digit scoring.
In other games on Tuesday, the Zhejiang Lions had a one-sided game over the Shanxi Loongs 100-84, while the Qingdao Eagles edged the Guangzhou Loong Lions 89-88.
