Xindu Xiangcheng Sports Center

The Xindu Xiangcheng Sports Center is a newly-built venue for the Chengdu Universiade and also the first one to complete its construction. It primarily consists of a gymnasium, a swimming pool, a fitness center, public fitness rooms, an outdoor soccer field, and supporting facilities. Incorporating the concept of "sponge city," the surrounding ground surfaces are constructed using permeable concrete technology, allowing for efficient water permeation and drainage, thus maintaining a dry and safe road surface. Furthermore, the venue has the capability to naturally retain rainwater, with an annual rainwater collection capacity of over 3,000 tons, which can be utilized for the maintenance of venue landscaping.
