Visiting Shanghai Port upset Beijing Guoan 2-1 in Beijing on Thursday in the 13th round of the Chinese Super League, further solidifying their leading position in the standings.
The hosts faced an early setback in the 17th minute as striker Yang Liyu was brought down by Shanghai Port's midfielder Cai Huikang. Yang's injury proved too severe for him to continue, forcing Beijing Guoan to make a substitution.
In the 39th minute, Beijing Guoan almost broke the deadlock with a header from Arijan Ademi, but a VAR review disallowed it for offside.
Five minutes later, Shanghai Port striker Wu Lei's shot took a deflection off a defender, only for Lv Wenjun to strike the ball into the net.
Shanghai Port extended their lead on 65 minutes with a spectacular long-range strike from Mirahmetjan Muzepper.
In injury time, a Shanghai Port's defensive error allowed Fang Hao to pull one back for Guoan. It was Fang's first goal after he joined Guoan this season.
Also on Thursday, Shandong Taishan defeated Changchun Yatai 4-1, and Chengdu Rongcheng crushed Shenzhen FC 3-0.
