Shanghai Shenhua extended their unbeaten streak to 10 matches in the Chinese Super League (CSL) with a convincing 4-0 victory over Zhejiang FC on Sunday, while Beijing Guoan beat Chengdu Rongcheng 2-1 at home.
Shenhua broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute thanks to a long-distance strike from Ibrahim Amadou, before Cephas Malele converted a penalty to extend the lead minutes later in stoppage time.
Malele and Zhejiang defender Yue Xin were both shown second yellow cards and sent off in the 65th and 72nd minutes respectively.
In the last quarter of the match, Andre Luis added another two goals for Shenhua to seal the 4-0 victory, cementing their lead of the CSL with 26 points from ten matches.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Guga and Fabio Abreu scored in the first half as Beijing notched their fourth win in a row. Romulo pulled one goal back for Chengdu in the 52nd time, but could only hit the post with a late effort for an equalizer.
Matias Vargas's hat-trick helped Shanghai Port crush newly-promoted Shenzhen Peng City 6-0. Port and Beijing now both have 21 points to rank second and third in the table respectively, two points ahead of fourth-placed Chengdu.
Elsewhere in the CSL, Wuhan Three Towns edged Qingdao Hainiu 1-0, Meizhou Hakka drew with Cangzhou Mighty Lions 1-1, and Changchun Yatai beat Nantong Zhiyun 3-2.
