The 8th gymnastics and dancing championship for Beijing primary and secondary school students concluded at the National Aquatics Center on May 3, 2024, following three days of vigorous competition.
The event covers 10 different competition levels such as primary school, junior and senior high as well as extracurricular institutions. About 1,600 participants from across the city showcased their exceptional athletic skills in five categories ranging from rhythmic gymnastics, gymnastics and aerobics to cheer routines and Chinese dance.
As the event's host venue, the National Aquatics Center has played a pivotal role in fostering the growth of gymnastics and dance among schoolchildren throughout Beijing, and maintained its commitment to Olympic-level service and sustainable utilization of its facilities at this year's championship. Leveraging the adaptability of the facility's swimming pool, competition events were conducted without water discharge, promoting an environmentally friendly practice.
