Athletic Bilbao have confirmed that midfielder Dani Garcia will leave the club after six years in which he made 194 appearances.

The club highlight that Garcia has made at least 30 first team appearances in every one of his seasons at the club, except the last two, with 29 games in the 2022-2023 campaign and 18 in the current season in which he helped them win the Copa del Rey after 40 years.

The veteran joins club captain Iker Muniain and forward Raul Garcia in leaving Athletic at the end of the campaign, with Raul Garcia confirming his retirement, while Muniain is likely to end his career playing in Mexico.

Garcia has been linked to a move to Valencia for next season, or to Olympiakos, with the Greek side coached by Jose Luis Mendilibar, who was Garcia's coach at Eibar before he joined Athletic.
