Gimnasia struck three late goals to cruise to a 3-0 home win over Banfield in Argentina's Primera Division on Sunday.
Rodrigo Castillo broke the deadlock with a 74th-minute strike before Lucas Castro and Matias Abaldo added two more goals in the next 10 minutes as Gimnasia continued their impressive start to the season.
Marcelo Mendez's men are now second in the 28-team Primera Division standings with seven points from three games, behind leaders Racing Club on goal difference. Banfield are 26th with just one point so far.
"It was difficult to break Banfield down but after we scored the first goal we became a lot more efficient," Mendez told reporters.
He added: "The players are working hard in training and the results are showing. I feel like the team is starting to develop an identity."
In other Primera Division fixtures on Sunday, Huracan won 1-0 at home to Instituto, Independiente Rivadavia prevailed 1-0 at Sarmiento and Velez Sarsfield drew 1-1 at Independiente.
