China eased past Thailand 25-23, 25-17, 25-18 in the FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League (VNL) in Macao on Saturday.

Thailand dropped from 12th to 13th in the world rankings after the match with China.

China's outside hitter Li Yingying scored a game-high 23 points, followed by Zhu Ting with 17 and Yuan Xinyue with 13. Thailand's Kokram Pimpichaya collected a team high 15 points.

"We learned from yesterday's game (against Japan) and made targeted adjustments, which was quite successful today, but there were still some ups and downs during the game, and hopefully we can do better tomorrow," said Li in an interview.

Earlier in the day, Japan, which upset China 3-1 on Friday, beat the Dominican Republic 3-1, while Brazil edged Italy 3-2.

China and Japan, ranking 6th and 7th in the world, are both vying for a place at this summer's Olympic Games in Paris.

China will next meet world No. 5 Italy on Sunday.
