The 25-year-old forward has signed a five-year contract with the recently crowned Champions League winners, finally ending the Spanish club's pursuit, which had been a long-running saga over the past few summers.

"I'm impatient to join the club of my dreams, Real Madrid. It's impossible to express how happy I feel at this moment," wrote the striker on social media.

Mbappe moves to Madrid after scoring 256 goals in 308 appearances for PSG, in addition to 27 goals in 60 matches with Monaco and 46 goals in 77 games with the French national team.

These impressive numbers, along with his pace and power, have made him arguably the best striker in the world. Real Madrid has been trying to sign him ever since he broke through at Monaco.

Mbappe is currently with the French national team preparing for the European Championships. Real Madrid also had further good news over the weekend with the confirmation that Mbappe won't participate in the Olympic Games, meaning he will be available for the start of the 2024-2025 La Liga season when it kicks off in mid-August.
